What is it?
They are mesh filters with very small openings (microns), mechanical and self-cleaning, designed to filter large volumes of water where the removal of particles (suspended solids) is essential.
Developed and manufactured in Sweden by their inventor Nils- Åke Persson (NP), they are definitely the world leaders in this technology with more than 5,000.- of these devices operating around the world.
The water flows by gravity from the inside of the Drum (at rest) to the outside, leaving the particles and solids retained in the micro mesh of the filter panel. With a pressure drop of only 300 mm. (maximum).
The exclusive design of its panels with squared cells, prevent the movement of the solids with the movement of the Drum, causing them to be removed without destroying the particles.
On the other hand, its squared design allows the simple repair of the panel in case of breakage, inserting a plug in the broken cell.
The Rotary Drum Filter is a very versatile equipment, being able to vary the openings of the filter meshes from 20 to 250 microns, just by changing the filter panels. This allows to perfect the water filtration to the needs of the Company or to change the destiny of the equipment.
The multiple designs and sizes allow to treat flow rates from 10 to 900 liters per second (from 36 to 3,240 m3 / h) in a single unit.
